Photos of B-17G Lassie, 390th BG, 571st BS, for book
I'm writing a book and search for some more photos of B-17G "Lassie", 390th BG, 571st BS. Specially photos of the B-17 on the home base Framligham and air to air shots of this plane and other B-17's of 571st bomb squadron.
I'm in contact since about 8 years with the co-pilot of this B-17, Nelson "Bob" Cockrum. He did support me with some photos of himself and the crew and did also write the foreword for my book.
The last mission of this B-17 was on 13th of April 1944 over Augsburg. After thy were badly shot up, this B-17 made it for Switzerland and was belly landing in Niederglatt. I live just 6 km from the landing site.
Any help is welcome.
