Franek you act as if you are presenting some great case, quoting (quite selective I must add) some figures from a website that can be found on the average bookshelf. There are no myths here, there are no great thruths either, just a discussion getting slightly out of wack.
Part of this discussion became a question of P-47 was better than P-51 or not. In my opinion I do not reveal any truth because it is obvious Mustang was superior and I think those figures say it best. I took Joe's data just to avoid time taking typing but if you consider them wrong, you may feel obliged to post comments here and send them to Joe as well.
Also you noted that the data is selective - what do you want else? I would love to have drag and lift coefficient characteristics but I have not seen them anywhere.

Perhaps it is time to end the debate on a disagreement, not on a so called "myth busting crusade" which to me sounds a bit too much like self applauding.
Those figures also clearly show range advantage of Mustang - 600 miles - a decisive factor if we discuss long range missions like the Big Week.

At which note I'll bow out of this debate and leave the arena to you.
Your choice but I see I am alone with Juha, so this means an end.
