The drawings mentioned here are microfilm copies of the actual manufacturing and assembly drawings, I believe you could pretty well build one from these. Unfortunately, they are scattered over several rolls and mixed with other material. It has been a couple years since I looked at this material, but I would estimate 4000-5000 frames total on the 8-162. If you are looking for more general information, start with Reel 124 which has the Baubeschreibung.
