Hello,
Regarding
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Orig-Foto-WKI.../171224189631?
which Franck has identified as "Bf 109 E-1, 5./JG 27, Flg Krenzke, Erich., shot down by a D520, Villers-Cotterets, 9 June 1940," I've got three locations for this in my photo notes: Amiens, Compiégne and Villers-Cotteręts. Amiens is a long distance NW of either of the other two, which are about 25kms apart. The Compiégne and Villers-Cotteręts could easily refer to the same incident. Its precise location is going to be hard to pinpoint due to the open farm country with no landmarks or dwellings visible in the background. Has anyone nailed this down specifically as to where this one came down, and what happened to the pilot, who was reported MIA and returned later?
Who knows this incident?
Regards,
Larry Hickey
