Unfortunately, 9V+GK was also worn by three different aircraft:

J900162 a Ju290-A3which became SB+QL, then 9V+GK then 9V+EK
Abandoned Salzburg later to become RAF AM 57 (some also claim her as 9V+MK)



J900164 a Ju290-A2which became SB+QN, then PI+PR, 9V+GK shot down May 1944 over Atlantic



J900181 a Ju290-A7which became KR+LL, crashed on landing later repaired and coded 9V+GK

The only reference to a six engined aircraft shot down was this one first posted on TOCH and archived (this reference was made on uboat.net):

This refers however to an aircraft which crashed 2.5 miles off Owl's head between 17-19 September 1944 - not May 1944. Local residents were warned by FBI and secret service never to discuss the incident.

It was replied to by a female diver at TOUCH, who cited data from a slightly worn Junkers constructor's plate.

Ruben Whittemore and his wife Paula however have also dived the crash site off Owl's Head and report there are still six engines on the seabed there.

If we accept that only one Ju-390 was built then by definition this could not be the wreck on the Atlantic seabed.
