Re: Jg301, 2/3/45

Hello all of you

First I will say that Peter's book , give a good overview of the battlesthat took place over German Occupied territories on 2 March 1945. . Congratulations Peter . I read it in two days , and I have still learned something . It is avery nice book , small format , from page # 49 to 64 you will find lists of sources , missing crews , losses and victories . Pages 65 to 80 are dedicated to colour profiles of opponents .

I have interviewed some years ago , one of the survivors of these events , ie Helmut "Peter" Rix of 8./JG301.

Fot those speaking French , it sould be placed in parallel of second volume of history of JG300 by J.Y.Lorant , which also depicts the events of that day concerning JG300.

The english version of this book is not availabable yest as far as I know .

All groups of JG301 were engaged that day . The stab/JG301 Ta 152h also took off but have to turn back to their home base.

Plase found probably one of the last fragments of this day , a very small piece of Fw 190D-9 W.Nr 500569 , White 14'" of Uffz. Günther Schulz, 5./JG 301.

All the Best

Eric
