I think you should do some checking again, when treated with filters and color saturation the wavy line of the bottom of a 2 is definitely there for the last digit. I have also compared the shapes of the last digit of this entry with the shapes of the other two numbers 8 on the same page and in the vicinity of the digits we are looking at, and the shapes when treated does not appear similar.

Until other data which is more readable appear l will stick with 40?2. If anyone has got further info I am interested. Worst thing is that I think I have identified the aircraft in the repair facility listings - unfortunately this airframe seems to have been sent to Land- u. See-Leichtbau G.m.b.H. Berlin, Werk Neumünster, a company that did not enter the aircraft WNr in the lists of aircraft undergoing repair at their facility. I will check a bit more.

Ahhh... but I have seen the holy grail! And it is painted RLM 76 all over with a large Mickey Mouse on the side, there is a familiar pilot in front of it and it has an Erla Haube!
