One year later, I finally pick up with the tread and thank the final contributors.

Matti, I think you confused the crash location as Lobenstein, in Bayern, while it was near Bad Lobenstein, in Thuringen. The German newspapers reporting in 2006 the creation of a memorial cross on the crash site sets it near Arlas, SE of Bad Lobenstein. This is 2 km from Pottiga, where the crew were buried on 7 May. And it is also coherent with the reported story of the widow of Karl Doss that was not allowed to enter DDR to visit the crash site after the war.

By the way the deathplace reported for Albert Aigner on the Volksbund database is Lobenstein/Thüringen. And it seems to me that such location are extracted from NVM.
