Hi Graham,

That was a Zünderbatteriekasten ZBK 241/1 (not 24171). It provided electricity to the bomb detonators before they were released. The ZSK 244 was used to choose if the bombs were to be thrown in a dive or on level flight and with or without delay upon impact. It was used in almost every Luftwaffe aircraft that was able to carry bombs. So, unfortunately, it doesn't allow you to narrow down the aircraft type.

In the Bf 109 the ZSK was installed underneath the main panel. In bombers it was usually installed on the side.

If you google ZBK 241 or ZSK 244 you will find many references incl. German wartime aircraft manuals that will give you much more information.
