Heuser is on a distinguished road
Re: Staffelkapitans 906

Hello, I found it in the "Legion Condor"-book by Karl Ries and Hans Ring.
The He 59 of AS/88 became order to sink a merchant ship with 200-400 "red" volunteers on its way from Oran to Cartagena. But Klümper used a trick. A He 60 "bombs" the ship with two reports: "stop immediately-no wireless or you will be torpedoed" and another with a new course and the order to follow it strictly. After dusk a submarine will guard the ship on its way.
Then Klümpers w.o. starts a lively radio telephony with the (imaginary!!!) sub und it replied. At the following day they found the "Nuria" still on course and guide the ship to Melilla.

I couldn´t find any awards for Werner Klümper in this book. There are documents for the two ships, but: signed by H. Göring in 1941!!!

Regards, Heuser
