SARO London

Hi,

Having recently completed a detailed study of the Mosquito Mk XVIII Tse-tse, which should be published later this year, I have been thinking about what to do next.

I quite fancy doing something on the SARO London flying boat. This played a key part in maritime patrols during the early years of WWII until the arrival in greater numbers of the Sunderland and later Catalina.

Initial research has indicated that it operated from Sullum Voe with 201 Squadron and Gibraltar with 202 Squadron. I will be ordering the relevant ORBs from the PRO and I know Fledgling Eagles by Chris Shores has some details of 201 Squadrons operations.

If anyone can help with other details/photos/references of the Londons service I would be grateful.

Alex
