Re: Seeking photo of Maj Hans Schalk's Bf110 as Gesch Kde of ZG26 circa last Q of 1940

Hello,

It has been suggested that Schalk's Bf110E-1 with Stab./ZG26 which carried (green or blue) Stab markings thinly outlined in black was the a/c he flew in late 1940 and early 1940. It was identical except for color and no white nose to Huth's a/c posted above. There are photos that exist of both the port nose, including with Schalk posing with it, and an almost complete port-side view of this, which was sold a couple of years ago on eBay.

John Vasco won that eBay photo and reports: "It is an 'E'. W. Nr. 4059. Makes it an 'E-1' built between May and August 1941, so outside the scope of the Project."

So Schalk had to have had another aircraft prior to this WNr.4059 covering the period from October, 1940 to late-spring, 1941, when he probably got WNr.4059. So we're still searching for photos of that a/c. And did this a/c have the white Stab symbols like the Huth example, or did Schalk immediately switch to blue or green Stab symbols on his new a/c in late 1940, which was very likely a new Bf110E-1.

Since Schalk had just won the RK with Stab III./ZG26 on 1 October 1940, immediately before he moved to command the Geschwaderstab, there must be photos out there somewhere of this new a/c.

Who can help me find them?
