Re: Hungarian Bf 109G's at Zagreb-Lucko in March 1945
Hi Denes,
There report that I have is pretty precise both about the date of arrival of the unit and disposition of its aircraft (southwestern corner of the airfield, next to Croat AF Bf 109's). It also says that Croat and Hungarian pilots didn't socialize much and were rather restrained. It mentions that they flew only sporadic training missions, and only when the fuel was provided by the Germans, and that Hungarian pilots were very young, except for a few men and their commander. In conversation Hungarian pilots stated that they arrived from area of Nagykanizsa-Kiskomaron. Apart from that, I have four statements of former Croat AF pilots which confirm the presence of this unit in given time and location when interviewed.
Cheers,
Boris
