Can anyone explain why - in July 1941 -a Heinkel 115 of 1./406 (temporarily attached to ./506) used the Luftwaffe code Q1611/15W to report an incident, rather than the appropriate Kriegsmarine code with the AN prefix? I don't
think this is a 'nit-picking' questions: it does seem to have location implications.
