III./JG 54 (to 30.09.41). 05.11.40 awarded Ritterkreuz, Kdr. III./JG 54. 07.11.40 promo to Hptm. 07.04.41 damaged on take-off from Pecs a/f - Bf 109 E-4 (Black <<). 30.09.41 MIA – shot down by Russian I-153s fighters near Leningrad, losing a wing and, according to unconfirmed reports, died in a Leningrad prison. (n.d.) posthumously promo to Maj. Credited with 25 air victories.
