Dear All,
Can someone help me to identify the emblem sported on a Bf 109 E-1/E-3 "Yellow 1", as per the attached photo, downloaded from here

Have not come across it before. Could be a personal emblem, or an early war unit emblem, or... Any assistance in the matter will be highly valued.
