Re: books on the De Havilland Vampire\Venom

"The History of the De Havilland Vampire" - David Watkins

"
Venom, De Havilland Venom and Sea Venom: The Complete History" - David Watkins

Try google for a limited preview of each book above.

"Post-War Military Aircraft 5:
De Havilland Vampire, Venom & Sea Vixen" - Philip Birtles
(Small potted type-history, lots of period photos, not much in pilot discussions, no profiles.)

"De Havilland Twin-boom Fighters: Vampire, Venom and Sea Vixen" - Barry Jones
(Standard Crowood type-history, loved by some, hated by others. I find them a good overall type-history of development and operational use. Not much in pilot discussions, lots of period photos....my copy is not accesible at present, so can't remember if any colour profile artwork.

In terms of "must-have" from my oppinion are the David Watkins' books. These are preview-able, so you can make up your own mind as to if they suit your needs.
