Re: Heinkel He 111 loss October 1944

Just to add what Chris said despite the NVM giving the date for 5K+LS as the 7th Oct. the first K report gives the loss as due to the port engine catching fire at 1930 hrs on the 5th, with no attack taking place. The K also says they were picked up at 1400hrs on the 6th, Essex police shows the 3 survivors as being accomodated at Harwich Police station at 2320hrs on the 6th and entrained for London the next day at 1055hrs.
F/Lt Marshall of 25 Sqd.submitted a claim for a He111 at 1954hrs in N8090 on the 6/7th, there is a NVM for 5K+KS crew of Ltn. Bohne who made a Notlandung by Venlo on the 6th Oct. - Am 6.1044 nach Feindflug durch beschuss zur Notlandung gezwungen. Besatzung wurde dabei verletzt (leicht).
