There are claims by a Spitfire IX of 1 SAAF Sqn, at 0630, off Ortona.
Lt. Richard John Barnwell (SAAF), Spitfire IX JG318 AX-D, Me 109G damaged plus Me 109G destroyed. The reference is SR: Air 54/22755&6.

Air 54 is a collection of microfilms of SAAF ORBs, held at the NA/PRO. The originals are presumably in South Africa.
