Built by Dornier, yes. It was a compressed air system. The seat, complete with arm and foot rests, slid up a sheet metal guide channel as it was driven upward and out of the aircraft under air pressure. The system air pressure was 120 atm, and compressed air was stored in three (3) bottles below the seat. The method of operation was rather complex, the rear propeller, top vertical fin, and canopy were blown free prior to the seat being actuated.

The system (and technology) was not mature and there were failures.
