Thank you for your swift reply it is welcome to open this serial number debate.
Both FCL vol 1 revised and 12 Days in May have -
11th May 79 Sqn
P/O Appleton unhurt in L2049.
14th May 79 Sqn
P/O Appleton as + in P2537.
So for both events no mention of P2635.
With regard to the link you gave it does say that Appleton was in P2537 but then P2635 is raised as a possibility as it is referenced in Air 81 ?
