New user to this forum, so apologies in advance if I've missed the information I'm hoping to be answered has been provided before or this is not the right place to request (please re-direct).

I'm seeking information on the Hurricanes that flew with 253 Squadron during the Battle of Britain. I have the details of individual aircraft that flew, together with times, dates and pilots - obtained from the official ORBs. However, what I'm looking for is in addition to this, namely the individual single letter codes assigned and painted on the aircraft. I've seen some tie-ups elsewhere, e.g. P2631 was SW.X) but no others and no means of verifying. I'd also like to see some photographs to confirm the markings, scheme and roundels applied - they may have been the authorised standard, or perhaps a mixture? I know these codes may well have changed as aircraft were lost / replaced, but knowing some at some point in time will be useful.

In particular, I'm interested in L1965 which was lost on 30-Aug-40.

Can anyone provide this information?
