Seeking photos/info on 2 Bf109s & 2 Bf110s SD France on 7 April 1940 during Phoney War
Hello,
Again, seeking photos or further information/exact locations of following LW a/c lost on French Territory on 7 April 1940:
1) "7 April 1940: 4./JG53 Messerschmitt Bf109E-1. Shot down by P/O P. V. Ayerst of No.73 Sqdn in combat 10 km south-east of Diedenhofen and crashed at Ham-sous-Varsberg, south-east of Thionville, France, at, 11.50 a.m. (FF) Fw Erwin Weiss killed. Aircraft White 4 + ~ 100% write-off."
2) "7 April 1940: Stab I./JG54 Messerschmitt Bf109E-3. Engine set alight under attack by Capt Hyvernaud of GC 2/2 and abandoned over Ernolsheim-Bruche, 15 km east of Strasbourg, France, (FF) Lt Paul-A. Stolte (Gruppenadjutant) baled out and captured unhurt. Aircraft 100% write-off."
3) "7 April 1940: 2./ZG2 Messerschmitt Bf110C. Shot down in combat with Curtiss H-75s of GC I/5 and Moranes of GC III/6 south of Sedan, France, p.m. Possibly that claimed by S/Lt Warnier of GC I/5 at Beaumont-en-Argonne, (FF) Fw Kurt Müller and (BF) Gefr Herbert Penkert killed. Aircraft 100% write-off.
4) "7 April 1940: 7 April 1940: 3./ZG2 Messerschmitt Bf110C. Shot down in combat with Curtiss H-75s of GC I/5 and Moranes of GC III/6 south of Sedan, France, p.m. Possibly that claimed by Lt Dorance of GC I/5 at Stonne. (FF) Lt Johannes Kiel baled out and captured unhurt, (BF) Unterfw Werner Ehm killed. Aircraft 3M+AL 100% write-off."
