"On 24 July, 1941 during the flight for acceptance at the factory № 18 in area of Rossosh airfield the plane, Yer-2 factory No. 1850705 was twice attacked and fired on by a fighter I-16. After the second attack Yer-2 caught fire. The pilot, major Rykov and senior engineer research Institute of the air force, military engineer 2nd rank Kokorin jumped out with parachutes. The radio operator Safonov and onboard technician Seregin were killed. The message is senior military representative of the plant. — Cause: lack of coordination with air defense. The application for the flight permit and have been issued. Investigation is conducted by the NKVD."
