First thought re YARD photo was Davis-Monthan Army Air Field at Tuscon/Arizona where the so-called "Boneyard" was established right after the war. At least 20 Bombardment Groups (Heavy) were trained here during the war, all or most of them equipped with B-24s. But reading further, the first aircraft sent to the D-M "Boneyard" in 1946 were B-29s and C-47s, so the photo is either a different place or the photo was taken at some date later than 1948-49.
