Nick is right ... DVDs are "encoded", or they are not "encoded" for specific-region playing. Reasons vary, though with popular films Nick hit the nail on the head.
My 16 (so far) titles are
not encoded, and will play on pretty much any dedicated DVD player in the world. Through eBay and my website sales, I've shipped all over the world - including some pretty exotic places - and I've not had any complaints yet (knock on wood

); in fact, the usual response is a multi-DVD second order!
So, "order with confidence"!
Let me take this opportunity to remind you that our films are taken direct from 16mm and 35mm film, and processed through BetaCam SP, which, in short, results in a DVD-master disc ... the commercial DVDs we sell are burned from the SP masters. In other words, you're getting "direct to DVD" - the highest possible quality - no video 'generation' in our titles, unlike 98% of the 'other guys'.
One look at one of our most popular titles, "Gun Camera Film
IN COLOR" will make you a believer. Think Kodachrome shot last week for most of the footage and you'll be in the right mindset as to quality.
