Re: JG 77 victories
The Soviet report from the 737 IAP lists 5 LaGG-3 taking to intercept a group of He 111s. They split into two groups with the first group under Mayor Varchuk commanding his three aircraft flight attacking 11 He 111s under escort of 2 Bf 109 and 2 Macci-200. This was at 09:13 in the area of Dryazgi. Varchuk came close enough in his attack that he hit one He 111 with his wing to wing. He didn't see the bomber go down but a Soviet air warning station stated one was observed crashing into the forest near Grafskaya. The LaGG-3 flown by Ml. Lt. Nikolai Galeev was KIA in air combat. For this battle Uffz. Bruno Weidlich, 4/JG 77 claimed Yak-1 (22) 08:12 PlQu. 93644.
At 09:14 (M) Kapt. Pologov and his wingman, Lt. Nikolai Lysenko attacked a group of He 111s in the area of Ramon'. One of which was observed losing altitude heading for the Don. At the time Pologov was attacked by two Bf 109s and claimed one shot down in the dogfight stating it crashed SW of Ramon' (no loss found). Lt. Lysenko was shot down and his aircraft fell 7 km south of Ramon' and listed KIA. Here is the tricky part, either the Ma-200 were actually Bf 109s or the Soviets didn't see the other two 109s.

Yak-1 (134). 08:14 PlQu. 93684
