It wasn't me, since I don't know the answer. All I know is that I. and II./SG 4 received a large number of factory-coded Fw 190s from Germany after they had been withdrawn from combat in late May 1944 but before they left Italy in June. There's a long list of these Stkz. on my website for those who are fascinated by such things!

My guess is that the brown/green "Italy" camouflage (see also aircraft of I./JG 4 and NSG 9) was a local initiative and not applied during manufacture.
