Doing a piece on U-468: Its commander Schamong mentions a bombing raid which nearly scuppers they're training in the latter part of August 1942 - 17th to 31st.

Having done a quick search I can't find any 'major' raid and therefore wonder if it may have been an individual aeroplane or aircraft off loading bombs not having reached their intended target ?
