Re: Flight Rome - Tokio in 1942

"Wings of Italy" p133
"On 1 July Lt. Col. Antonio Moscatelli took off from Saporoshje, in occuped Russia, and after a 6,200 km flight largely over Soviet territory landed his S.75GA at Pao Tow Chen in nortehrn China. reaching Tokyo on 3 July, Moscatelli took off for the return leg on 16 July, reaching Odessa four days later. The flight was intended to prove the feasability of a scheduled link to Japan along a more southern route, but the plan did not progress beyond the first attempt."
