I am quite an illiterate when it comes to codes but could one be a Stammkennzeichen (STKZ) and other be Überführungskennzeichen (ÜKZ) (or what would probably translate into "Transfer code")?
STKZs were applied to a machine forever & if understood well ÜKZs were re-used and applied by construction companies / makers and didn't have anything with "call signs".
Forgive me for my ignorance. just trying to put possibilities out.
(I am just not sure if ÜKZs existed after 1939?)
