Re: Supplies to Japan in March 1941
There is a detailed summary of the JFM sales to Japan resulting from interogations following capitulation. I can't seem to find it right now, but the quantities of Ju 88s and Jumo engines seem high. I believe there were only one or two Ju 88s sent to Japan. I don't believe there was any information on the transit method, but my guess would be ship rather than rail. Thinga at that point were OK between Germany and USSR, but it was pretty dicey in the Far East. Finally, early in the war, US intelligence on Europe generally does not appear to be very good. I have been through quite a few feet of the early US intelligence and it really seemed bad.
Best regards,
