After some further searching, I located a site that claims that von Bock was shot up early on the 3 May, so perhaps not an afternoon 2 TAF mission?

Obviously it is frustrating to be citing an online source of unknown reliability, but there doesn't seem to be much hard information about von Bock's death (hardly surprising, given the end of war chaos).
The website also claims to show the residence where von Bock stayed before his fatal journey and the place where his car was strafed: might be of some interest.
