Dora-9 Units

Hello guys

I have the following as known operators of the Fw 190 D-9: I., II., III./JG 2; Stab, IV.(Sturm)/JG 3; Stab, II.(Sturm)/JG 4; Stab, I., II./JG 6; JGr 10; Stab, I., II., III., IV./JG 26; IV./JG 51; III./JG 54; E.St. 4./JG 104 (Einsatzstaffel 4); II.(Sturm)/JG 300; I., II., III./JG 301; III./KG(J) 27; II./NAG 6; Stab/SG 2 and JV 44 Würger Staffel. In many of these units, Fw 190 A-8 aircraft continued to be used alongside of the Fw 190 D-9. Which of these units were flying the Fw 190 D-9 in April 1945 I am not so sure but in addition to the ones that Erich mentioned definitely I. and II./JG 6 and IV./JG 51. III./JG 54 had been redesignated on 25 February 1945 as IV./JG 26 and this was disbanded on 17 April 1945. I believe that II.(Sturm)/JG 300 had four Fw 190 D-9 on strength in early 1945 and these operated with the Gruppenstab. If anybody can elaborate on this it would be very helpful. Mr Sundin has made a profile of one of these fighters, a "Blue 6." I do know that Fahnenjunker-Oberfeldwebel Heinz "Negus" Marquardt (121 victories, RK) of 13./JG 51 was shot down and wounded by F/Lt Peter Cowell (3 destroyed, 2 probable victories) of 41 Sqn, RAF on 1 May 1945 over Lake Schwerin. I hope that this helps some what.

Horrido!

Leo
