8 November 1940 RAF Honington raid

Hi guys

On 8 November 1940, a lone Ju88 (V4+ER of 7./KG1) attacked RAF Honington (Suffolk) in a daring low-level daylight raid - and was shot down by Army Lewis gunner, Gunner Tom Sudbury. Ltn Peter Ungerer and his crew were killed when the aircraft crashed on the airfield.

According to my late Dad, who was in the same unit (429 Company, 60th Searchlight/9th Middlesex), Tommy Sudbury was 18 years-old and was awarded the Military Medal for his feat.

I haven't been able to confirm this - name or award - can anyone help? Is there an official report? I couldn't find anything relevant in RAF Honington's ORB.

Cheers
Brian
