Junker, I tend to agree with you that the 11./JG 26 story is a later invention.
Mark, thank you for information about the 2 December raid! Page 168 of MAW Volume III says, inter alia, "Ultra intercepts stated actual losses at El Aouina to be six aircraft destroyed and four damaged".
