Hi guys

I understand that Il-2s (Sturmovik) participated in an attack on the Luftwaffe's airfield at Pontsalenjoki on 4 August 1942, and again next day. Two were evidently claimed shot down by flak. This was the first use of the Il-2 on the Northern Front, albeit in the southern sector.

My questions:
From which unit and airfield were the Il-2s from? POSSIBLY 57 ShAP????
Did they suffer an losses in these attacks?
Did Il-2s undertake further actions in this sector during 1942?
