I believe Hans Schneider had the rank of Hauptmann when he was posted as missing on March 12 1945. As far as I can recall, he was at Lister at the time, and was as Horst Kube stated the Staffelkapitän of 13./J.G.5.
He was probably flying from most major airbases in southwestern Norway in the spring of 1945, main airfield for the Staffel being Lister or Lista in norwegian.
