Loss of B17F #42-30379 Jan '44, 16th Sq?
Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone had any additional information on the loss of this B17F, SN# 42-30379, that was lost over the Med in Jan, possibly on the 25th, of 1944. It was assigned to the 16th Squadron of the 68th Recon Group at the time of its loss? I know there is a MACR associated with this aircraft but I have not been able to access a site with that info.
An old friend lost a relative on this aircraft, which got me interested in finding out what may have occurred but I'm doubtful that there will be any details since the crash supposedly occurred over water.
