At least due to the 49 IAP records which I have here, one La-5 was lost during an engagement with Ju 87s on 5 Sept 1942. One Ju 87 was claimed by Kapitan Pavel Bashkirov and M.Lt. Pavel Zeskin. Area: Vazuza River. Source: TsAMO, f. 1 VA, op. 3308, d. 19.
