Hi Larry, see the resemblance on this tower protecting a railroad. A little bit different one in mg34 but basic design looks the same. Wich make sence because the firing of the Flak gun would cause quite some stress on the woodwork construction.

I have read that Germans also uses tactics in combatting the attacking planes post d-day by using the mobile units in ever changing places around these towers and other dug in positions. These could really spoil a low flying attackers day.
