For what it is worth ...
From Navy Air Colors vol 1 Squadron Signal book, a few years old now so maybe the info is out of date now.

Answer to your question re a/c on the "USS Cape Glouchester" is generally YES. A/c in Carrier Div 27 all wore simular markings .

Colours of stripes is given as either a Willow Green or a light yellow, with Glossy white tail and wing markings. Some squadrons had one colour stripe while others had two. some stripes ran from for'd to aft on the wings while others were diagonal inboard for'd to out board aftfuselage, top for'd to bottom aft.
