Cogman's Whitley was shot down by Flak near Milheeze 2300 hrs on 19 May. Plt Off L Miller, AC2 E H Bros and LAC J R Nicholson were taken prisoner, Sgt K V Thrift killed and Cogman evaded only to be missing presumed killed on 27 May 40 when SS Aboukir was torpedoed
