Re: Unknown markings on a He 70

Hello again Stig, sorry the delay,

For a number of years I have had a picture (deathcard) of Fw. Anton Stemmer and never really knew much about him or his plane and the circumstances surrounding his death.

Not long ago I got hold of some files containing losses, not inflicted by enemy action, DVL/Unfälle and there I found him/his plane.

I have attached a scan of that particular loss, which caused my confusion. To me it looked like the letter "N". It was also the first time I found all those dots. Then I tried to search on an internet page called "Golden years of aviation" under German civil A/C register and there it was with D-UDIM. He 70 G with the same Wnr. and in service with LDK 1/7.

Above it was D-UDIN, which was a W 34 hi.

I still need to find the rank of the BM Matauschek, who also died in the accident.
I just love when something comes to light and in here I have had a lot of help over the years.
Again thank you for your response Stig.
Regards,
Christian
