KGrzbV S-13 question
I have a mystery for you
was there ever a transport Gruppe called KGrzbV S-13? Was it really KGrzbV 13 ?
In 35 years of reading and note taking this is all I have found on this unit:
From "Warplanes of the Third Reich" by william Green p. 413:
-formed in autumn 1942 for Russian front with Ju 52
– disbanded Dec 1942.
From "Photo Collection of Luftwaffe Emblems" p. 224:
- refers to “S” as being one of the Gossverband
from Verband der Luftwaffe" by Wolfgang Dierich p. 281:
- was operational in Crete and North Africa
-disbanded December 1942.
From GermanAirForce Airlift Operations" by Fritz Morzik p. 405
-had Kommandeur: Mueller
-had theatre of operations: assigned to Commander in Chief South
- disbanded in Dec 1942.
From "die deutschen Transportflieger im Zweiten Weltkrieg" p. 10
-formed in the fall 1942; for mediterranean ops
-was under KGzbV S (Sizilien)
-in February 1943, unit dissolved with assets scattered.
-had Kommandeur: Maj. Schulz
p. 256 – had Kommandeur : Muller
– unit operated under Ob Sud
– dissolved December 1942
That's all there is on this subject! Nothing appears in the loss reports or anywhere else.
Any help here would be appreciated.
It might be KGrzbV 13 but its not quite consistent. Also annoying is how DTF contradicts itself.
Got to go to a clinic tomorrow for a general physical. How t
