Re: Ditched Ju 88 ?
According to "Aéro-Journal n°47", this aircraft (code A6+FN, slighty different from above) took off from Sola, Norway, on the 28th to take pictures of Scapa Flow and evaluate the number and types of warships here, to prepare a Mistel raid.
Its fate is described as force-landed on the west coast of Scotland after an engine fire, only one survivor.
Still according to the same article, the lack of intelligence due to this loss delayed a possible attack and in January 1945 two Ar234B-2 planned to go to FAG 5 were instead sent to Baumbacha airfield, a Mistel base, to continue the recon work on Scapa Flow.
