He111 lost 18/8/43 with Skorzeny aboard
Hi guys

I have read that a He111 was shot down by a fighter off the island of La Maddalena (Sardinia) on 18/8/43, aboard which was SS Captain Skorzeny. Apparently he and the crew were rescued from the sea (and, as we know, Skorzeny went on to rescue Mussolini)

Any details on the Heinkel unit and crew, and the identity of the pilot/unit that shot it down?
