If you like I can ask on a Russian forum if anyone can provide you with decent scans of photos that you need.
Concerning copyright, most if not all aviation related publications violate copyrights. I must note here that in one of my articles I have used a photo scanned from a booklet and it did not violate any copyrights as the photo was not copyrighted and I had agreements from both publisher and author. In the same article I have used photos obtained from a man who took them personally, so no copyright issue, and photos taken by another airmen, whom I was unable to identify - this could violate copyrights.
