Re: Two P-47 losses in march 1945

Yes, this could be the plane of Lt Wallace. His MACR starts here for those with fold3 access: https://www.fold3.com/image/29426572

But the key page from his MACR is this one:
https://www.fold3.com/image/29426601?terms=bruchhof

In the 2nd photo a sign says the plane was shot down near Bruchhof in Feb (45?). The bottom part of the sign seem to say something like "25? Miles East of ????"

Paraphrasing the key MACR page on fold3 for Wallace, it says that Wallace was killed 18 March 1945. On 15 April a ground search found his plane which had a large "Question Mark" on the vertical stabilizer (as is seen in the first linked photo). Civilians reported that the pilot was buried at Bruchhof, mentioned in the 2nd photo.

Percy Forman's MACR (missing some pages) starts here: https://www.fold3.com/image/29427074
