Ju 52 small engine fire at Oberschleissheim

Dear friends,
today there is a fly-inn at Oberschleissheim, Deutsches Museum Flugwerft with Me 109 G-10 and a lot of other great aircraft. On this occasion, there are also 2 Ju 52 from JuAir offering trips around Munich. At about 13:30, one of the Ju’s (marked with BMW) just taxied along the museum building, and flames came out the starboard engine. Immideately, the crew evacuated the passengers in a very fast and professional way, so at no time anybody was in danger. Due to museum staff’s attention, fire extinguishers were carried to the burning engine and it was possible to extinguish the fire rapidly.
As there were a lot of spectators and people taking pictures, this is a first report what really happened. Of course, some press guys will write sensational rubbish, but I was there personally with a fire extinguisher that I picked up in the exhibition hall and ran.
Hopefully, repair can undergo very fast.
Sincerely, Peter Ocker
